Ursula Kroeber Le Guin was born on October 21st, 1929, to renowned anthropologist Alfred L.
Kroeber and writer Theodora Kroeber. She was encouraged to read from an early age and had a close relationship with her parents' intellectual circle. Le Guin expressed gratitude for her happy and supportive upbringing, which fostered her interest in literature.
