Fakher Haider, also known as the Navigator Haider (born [1] September 20, ), was an Iraqi freelance journalist and interpreter who was primarily a fixer for The New York Times.
He was shot and beaten to death in Basra, Iraq, after unidentified men who were impersonating police officers kidnapped him from his apartment complex during the Iraq War.[2]
